Due to extreme pressures on the surgery as a result of coronavirus you can no longer book an appointment online or by coming to the front desk.  All appointment requests are now being triaged by our healthcare team.  If you feel you need to see or speak to a doctor please contact the surgery on the usual number (02890320777) our experienced reception staff will take your details and a member of our team will phone you back.  You will be offered an appointment if this is needed.

21/5/20- Patient Survey

We have had to change how we deliver care to our patients due to the coronavirus pandemic.  We would be grateful if you would complete the survey below to get your feedback on how we have delivered care to date and how we can shape care for the future.

Patient Survey- Practice Services during Covid pandemic

Before contacting the surgery for advice think '3 Before GP'

Can I?

1. Self-care

2. Use a reputable website such as NI Direct online resource

3. Seek advice/treatment from a local pharmacy

If you are phoning for advice regarding muscle or joint pains please ask a member of our team if you can speak to Practice Based Physiotherapist.

Approximately half of all consultations are taken by patients with conditions  that will get better on their own and are not serious.  These can often be managed by your local pharmacist (Minor ailments) or by looking at the self help leaflets.

Many patients request to speak to a GP to discuss letters or reports.  These queries could be handled by our administration staff.  This will allow you to get the information you need quicker and will free up GP time.

Missed Appointments (DNA's)

DNA'S (Did Not Attend) have an enormous impact on the surgery, in terms of waiting times and significantly adding to delays.  We hope you can help us to reduce the number of Lost appointments.  If you need to cancel a booked appointment for the Doctor or Treatment Room, please contact the surgery by phone or on line.

Urgent Appointments

We understand that there are circumstances in which a patient may require an urgent assessment that same day.  We have a doctor on call on a daily basis who will triage urgent requests for appointments and medical advice.  This doctor is available between 8.30 am and 11.45 am in the morning and between 2pm and 4pm in the afternoon for urgent calls.

For urgent requests please contact 028 9032 0777.  The receptionist will ask you for details regarding your condition and for an up to date contact number.  Our staff are trained to ask questions that will help the doctor appropriately and safely triage your call.  After the doctor triages the call a member of the practice team will phone you back.  We deal with a large volume of requests so may only get one chance to phone you back, please try to keep your phone line free.
